In this issue of AAC Worldwide, you will experience a wide variety of technical articles and innovative, creative ideas from the most diverse areas of the autoclaved aerated concrete industry.

There is a new cooperation between Xella Technologie- und Forschungsgesellschaft mbH and the Australian company Fastbrick Robotics Limited (FBR). In this pilot project, a mobile robot will automatically position AAC blocks on a construction site so that a building can be erected largely without manual intervention.

A similar approach was taken by the chair of the Pratt Institute School of Architecture from the United States with its research project to develop lightweight masonry façades made of autoclaved aerated concrete that are expressive and customizable. Here, too, modern robot technology was used, which takes advantage of the benefits of this building material.

Many companies still must adapt the construction and commissioning of autoclaved aerated concrete plants due to the Corona virus. Fortunately, numerous new autoclaved aerated concrete plants were built and commissioned worldwide in the past and current year. A large part of the customer service for the plant construction was performed remotely. In this issue you can read how Wehrhahn overcame these hurdles in the commissioning of their new facility.

Many new production plants have been commissioned China despite the pandemic.  Learn how Aircrete Europe details the implementation of a panel plant in China. The Chinese "Made in China 2025" initiative, running at full speed, aims to improve the capacity of manufacturing industries and transform labour-intensive industries into technology-intensive ones. This is an ideal scenario for panel technology.

Digital design and implementation of construction methods are a frequent topic in AAC Worldwide. Learn more about how companies manage to build efficiently with digital tools in this issue.
