The Sobha Hartland project promises its affluent residents an inspiring lifestyle, comfort and luxurious living in every detail. Behind the magnificent façade of this mega building project lies the enormous achievement of the planning and construction companies.

Seconds add up to hours

Sobha Construction LLC, which employs around 3,500 permanent staff, is responsible for ensuring that the construction of the apartments, villas and townhouses remains on schedule and meets the high demands of their luxury clientèle. The interior walls of all residential units are built stone by stone from autoclaved aerated concrete blocks that have to be individually adapted. Around 200,000 blocks are being cut directly on the construction site. “This requires the fastest and most reliable saws. Just a few more seconds per cut add up to hundreds of hours of work on this huge mountain of blocks, which would be spent sawing instead of building,” says Johnson Pereira, Lissmac branch manager in Dubai. The right saw for the job

Simply using a large and powerful saw is not an efficient solution. In Sobha Hartland, the autoclaved aerated concrete blocks are installed in two sizes. The more massive blocks are used in the villas and houses and the smaller ones in the apartments. The machine selection corresponds to this application profile. The Lissmac MBS 650 autoclaved aerated concrete band saw achieves cutting heights of up to 650 mm in autoclaved aerated concrete and brick. The MBS 510 can handle up to 510 mm. Otherwise, the machines are similar in terms of performance and equipment. "Our saws work with millimetre precision. This helps workers to generate considerably less waste. In addition, our saw blades last much longer than is the case on other machines. This plays a particularly important role in such extreme applications. Perfection for more performance
