Two new product solutions for more efficient construction and safer planning
Loading...Fire protection approval for the lightest product in its class
The most energy-efficient Ytong product, Ytong ThermUltra, impresses with an outstanding thermal conductivity of λ = 0.07 W/(mK), making it ideal for use in Efficiency Houses 40 and passive houses. Now it offers another decisive advantage: Ytong ThermUltra has been granted a new fire protection approval and is the only product on the German market that is approved for use in fire walls (REI-M) with a particularly low bulk density of 300 kg/m³. With a utilisation factor of 0.70 and a minimum thickness of only 300 mm, it meets the strict requirements for use in single-sided fire exposure.
The new approval not only underlines the quality and versatility of Ytong ThermUltra, but also Xella's commitment to providing innovative solutions for modern construction.
Ytong parapet elements – an intelligent solution on top
Want to finish flat roofs efficiently? With the new Ytong parapet elements, this is now quicker and easier than ever before. The factory-reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete components are a clever alternative to conventional parapets made of in-situ concrete or masonry, which still require formwork and reinforcement. They are optimised for thermal bridges from the outset and meet the requirements for the Efficiency House 40 standard, making them the new icing on the cake for flat roofs in multi-storey residential construction. Their simple static system enables safe and economical planning. Further advantages of this well-designed system include reliable planning, quick installation and a significant reduction in construction time and costs. Up to 100 running metres per day can be achieved on the construction site. This represents a genuine productivity gain, as the assembly components are installed horizontally as parapets. The reduced installation effort significantly accelerates construction progress while minimising storage and logistics costs. Added to this are the material-specific advantages: the solid Ytong parapet elements are fully load-bearing and can easily absorb wind loads of up to qw,d ≤ 2.0 kN/m² and transfer them to the ceiling via the connection reinforcement. They are also non-combustible (REI 90).
Sustainable and future-oriented
Like all Ytong products, both products are qualified for the ‘Quality Seal for Sustainable Buildings’ (QNG) and have been awarded the QNG Ready seal by the Sentinel Holding Institute. They thus actively contribute to sustainable building design and certification.
With its innovative spirit, expertise and clear focus on the challenges facing the industry, Xella once again offers practical solutions with Ytong that make everyday construction easier and buildings safer, more efficient and more sustainable.
