ICCX Türkiye combined a high-calibre conference programme with an extensive trade exhibition, bringing together concrete, precast concrete and AAC manufacturers, construction companies, engineers, scientists, designers and technology providers from Türkiye, Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia. The event had already attracted considerable interest in the run-up to the event, as the Turkish construction industry is currently one of the most dynamic growth markets in the region. In particular, reconstruction following the severe earthquakes of recent years, as well as increasing requirements for sustainable and efficient construction methods, are driving high levels of investment in modern construction technologies like AAC.

Dr Holger Karutz, Managing Director of ad-media Verlag and organiser of ICCX Türkiye, opened ICCX Türkiye 2026 with his welcoming address. He welcomed the international guests and emphasised the event’s role as a key platform for knowledge transfer, innovation and exchange within the concrete industry.

Technical conference focusing on future technologies and earthquake safety

The two-day conference programme centred on current developments in the fields of precast concrete construction, concrete technology, highly sustainable building materials as AAC, automation and earthquake-proof construction. International and regional experts presented practical solutions and innovative technologies to address the challenges of modern construction projects. Even in the run-up to the event, the topic of “seismic construction” in particular had been identified as a key focus of the event.

Robert Turski, representing EAACA, delivered a keynote speech on the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow’s construction industry and the advantages of autoclaved aerated concrete.

In addition to a number of very interesting presentations on the main topic ‘Building with precast concrete elements in seismic regions’, an entire session was devoted to autoclaved aerated concrete as a building material. Here, too, the advantages of AAC in earthquake-resistant construction were highlighted.

With a varied programme of specialist presentations and workshops, the conference provided participants with valuable insights and practical knowledge for their day-to-day professional lives.

ICCX Türkiye 2026 was supported by, among others, the Turkish Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Association, led by its President, Fethi Hinginar. In doing so, the Association emphasised the great importance of this conference and trade fair for the further development of construction methods using autoclaved aerated concrete. It expressly welcomed the practical focus and interdisciplinary exchange offered by this event and recognised the added value that ICCX Türkiye provided to planners, engineers, autoclaved aerated concrete manufacturers and investors.

International trade exhibition as the industry’s central meeting place

Running alongside the congress, numerous international and regional companies presented their products, technologies and services as part of an extensive trade exhibition. Large sections of the exhibition space had been allocated well in advance of the event, so the exhibition was expanded to include additional space. In total, more than 60 companies from various countries participated in the inaugural ICCX Türkiye, including more than 10 exhibitors related to the AAC sector.

The exhibition covered a wide range of modern solutions for the concrete, precast concrete and AAC industries. Visitors particularly praised the high quality of the technical discussions as well as the direct connection between theory and practical application.

Many exhibitors reported having in-depth discussions with decision-makers, designers and manufacturers from Türkiye and neighbouring markets. Participants rated the combination of the trade conference and the practice-oriented exhibition as particularly valuable, as it promoted direct exchange between research, technological development and industrial application.

Istanbul as an ideal location for international networking

Istanbul was deliberately chosen as a venue that connects Europe and Asia and plays a central role within the international construction and concrete industry. The city’s excellent international accessibility and the high dynamics of the Turkish construction market contributed significantly to the event’s international focus.

Türkiye is regarded as one of the concrete industry’s most important growth markets due to its extensive infrastructure projects, large-scale housing construction and reconstruction efforts in earthquake-affected regions. At the same time, issues such as decarbonisation, resource-efficient production and sustainable building materials are becoming increasingly significant. ICCX Türkiye 2026 provided an international platform for knowledge exchange and business development in this regard.

Impressions from ICCX Türkiye 2026

Positive feedback from the industry

Both exhibitors and visitors rated the first ICCX Türkiye 2026 extremely positively. Particular praise was given to the high quality of the specialist presentations, the international mix of participants, the professional organisation and the practical focus of the event. Many participants described ICCX Türkiye as an important new meeting place for the concrete/AAC industry in the region and as a valuable addition to the trade events for the Turkish construction industry.

The collaboration with international associations and industry partners such as fib – Fédération Internationale du Béton, the Turkish Precast Concrete Federation and the Turkish Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Association also underscored the event’s professional significance.

The main sponsors of ICCX Türkiye 2026 made a significant contribution to both the organisation and the technical significance of the conference. The platinum sponsor was the Turkish construction chemicals manufacturer Lyksor. The gold sponsors were the Turkish company Liya, a supplier of testing and measurement technology for the concrete industry, and Jiangsu Teeyer Intelligent Equipment from China. The companies Keda Suremaker, China, and Aircrete Europe, The Netherlands, were Silver Sponsors. The strong presence of the autoclaved aerated concrete industry at the opening event of ICCX Türkiye was clearly demonstrated by these three companies.

Finally, the organising team would like to thank all sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and participants for their support. Their commitment, expertise and active participation have made ICCX Türkiye 2026 a successful platform for professional exchange and international networking, and have laid the foundation for a promising future for the event.

On the occasion of ICCX Türkiye 2026, Robert Turski, representing EAACA, and Prof. Alper Ilki, representing Istanbul Technical University, signed an agreement appointing the university as the scientific partner of the 8th International Conference on Autoclaved Aerated Concrete, which will take place in Istanbul in 2027 as well.
