State-of-the-art dosing system for aluminium pastes
Loading...The aluminum suspension dosing systems commonly used to date have a real hazard potential due to the permanent hydrogen development in the aluminum suspension. Therefore, the aluminum suspension must be permanently cooled. For cases when, despite constant cooling, the aluminum in the suspension tank reacts uncontrollably, an external basin is required for emergency emptying of the suspension. In addition, a product change and the preparation of a new suspension can be associated with greater material loss and loss of production.
The company Schlenk has been producing aluminium pigments for over 140 years and has been a leading manufacturer of technical aluminium flakes for many decades. The enormous, related know-how on the safe handling of aluminium pigments has resulted in the development of a single-paste dosing system (EPDA) for customers in the AAC industry.
The EPDA, which was developed by Schlenk more than 10 years ago, impresses with the following advantages:
· No risk of explosion due to dusts or hydrogen formation
· Precise dosing
· Low maintenance and easy cleaning
· Filling of the storage silo during ongoing production
· No need for an emergency pool
· Little material loss during production downtime
· Easy integration into existing production facilities
The EPDA is structured as follows:
· 2 storage containers with associated dosing unit
· 1 self-cleaning mixing tank
The system allows up to 20 pours per hour, with a dosing accuracy of ± 10 g of aluminum paste.
In the event of a production stop over a longer period of time, there is no need for additional emptying of the dosing container. The EPDA avoids the disadvantages of suspension and powder dosing and combines the advantages of these two dosing methods.
