AAC convinces for high-quality housing
Loading...Developers found a fantastic opportunity in Hebel-Litecrete AAC masonry walls, and the Power Floor panels for slabs. With these systems, the project achieved the required structural strength and thermal insulation, with zero moisture problems, characteristics of particular importance in these hurricane-prone regions. In addition, these systems exceed the required fire-rating and sound insulation values without the need of additional materials.
The building required 1,830 m2 of 20 cm thick AAC-6/600 reinforced masonry walls, and 1,040 m2 of 7.5 cm thick AAC-4/500 panels working in Power Floor system for floor slabs. Power Floor system is an innovative flooring solution based in thin AAC panels supported by framing elements; this system, capable to sustain both vertical and lateral loads, entered the U.S. market barely 7 years ago, and it is gaining acceptance rapidly.
As in all its projects, Litecrete (Hebel) provided its 360° service, with a strong technical support during planning and construction phases, offering installation training directly on-site and, as well as a coordinated delivery schedule.
Nowadays, at the final stages of the construction process, this complex is already distinguishing itself as a safer and higher quality building development than the rest of the neighbor communities.
Rodrigo Sada, Paez Developments: "We decided to use Hebel products, because we realized that it could be an ideal system for the luxury multifamily projects that we are developing on the Texas coast, where we saw the damage that a hurricane can cause, such as Harvey in 2017. The use of Hebel, offered us a structural system of greater resistance, solved the thermal insulation and provided the fire protection required, giving us a water-resistant product, which would help prevent both the penetration of water by strong winds, as well as structural damage and mold formation that happens in wooden structures in case of a flood."
