Mobbot raises CHF 2.9 million seed round to boost its 3D robotic system
Mobbot offers a robotic and automation platform to print concrete infrastructure directly at the final location.
Mobbot will use this new capital to accelerate the development and commercialization of its patented mobile robot for 3D-concrete printing. The funds will be invested in R&D and continuous product innovations, and to strengthen the marketing and sales organization.
Mobbot offers a robotic and automation platform to print concrete infrastructure directly at the final location. Utility infrastructure products such as cable chambers, retaining walls and beams can be produced much faster and cheaper than with traditional fabrication methods. This approach also contributes to reducing material waste and CO2 emissions by up to thirty percent.
With this financing round, the company is also announcing two appointments to its board of directors, Sylvie Mutschler, Investor Director and President of Mutschler Venture and Vincent Bieri, Co-founder of Nexthink, technologist and startup advisor. “This funding which is essential to support the market expansion of our system was enabled by investiere. I am also very happy that both Sylvie and Vincent will contribute their impressive experience and success in scaling up new technologies and businesses.”, said Agnès Petit, Mobbot CEO and Founder.
“Mobbot is led by a very dedicated team and a female founder whose eyes are sparkling when she talks about her products. We are excited to be invested from an early stage to support Mobbot growth both nationally and internationally”, said Sylvie Mutschler, Owner and President of the Mutschler Immobilien AG and of Mutschler Ventures.
Annoying delays and cost overruns at construction sites are a thing of the past
Mobbot already delivered 40 concrete products to clients for underground infrastructures, all produced over a single day. “No market need is the number one reason why startups fail. I am very excited to join the Board of an innovative company with proven acceptance of its value for customers and equipped to go full speed in the years to come”, said Vincent Bieri, Board Director at Mobbot.
About Mobbot
Mobbot develops and operates automated robotic 3D-concrete printing platforms. They allow construction firms to fabricate their own non-standard elements at the final location. A patented spraying technique delivers them up to twenty times faster, forty percent cheaper and with thirty percent fewer CO2 emissions than standard methods. 3D-concrete printing of underground utility products for telecom, energy and water is far quicker, cheaper, and more durable than traditional formwork. Construction companies can work more efficiently with just-in-time production and minimal manual labor. Mobbot was founded by Agnès Petit in 2018 and is based in Fribourg (Switzerland).
