Successful digital conference premiere

Premiere a success! This is the conclusion to be drawn from the international scientific-practical conference "Production and Application of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete", which was held for the first time exclusively online as a Zoom Meeting. A good 70 experts took part on each of the two days of the event, with the number of participants remaining constant from morning to afternoon – proof of the great interest.

The varied programme of the conference, organised by the Belarusian planning and project management company TNKA-Arkhitek, included lectures on plant and production technology, raw materials, building planning and operation, and even insulation and exterior rendering systems for autoclaved aerated concrete façades.

A look at the neighbouring countries

A good example that the organisers of the conference were right in their choice of lecture topics and speakers was the lecture by Sergey Galkin, the chief engineer of the planning company "ZNTUS" based in the Belarusian city of Novopolotsk. He spoke about the planning, construction and operation of a residential building that, apart from a few in-situ concrete elements, was constructed exclusively from reinforced AAC elements. The participants had so many questions and suggestions about the project that it was difficult to keep to the conference schedule.

The view beyond the borders of Belarus was broadened, among others, by Gleb Grinfeld, Managing Director of the Russian AAC Association NAAG, with his lecture "AAC in Russia. Current trends in the market for wall-building materials" and Svetlana Lapovskaya, Deputy Director of the "Ukrainian Scientific Research and Project Institute for Building Materials and Products" (NDIBMV) based in Kiev with her presentation "Use of waste from the enrichment of gold-bearing ores for AAC production".

The supplier companies Aircrete Europe, Keda Suremaker, Benda Lutz, Ilmax and IT Prom also participated with product and project reports.
